Job Summary

Fabricate and assemble metal components on the production floor during the 2nd shift. Weld using TIG, ARC, and MIG processes, interpret blueprints and work orders, and work with stainless steel, galvanized, and black iron materials. Operate shop tools and welding equipment, perform inspections, measure to close tolerances with calipers/micrometers, and support safe, organized maintenance work in accordance with company safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Fabricate and erect assigned tasks using various metals (stainless steel, galvanized, black iron).
•Set up and operate welding and fabricating equipment to complete jobs from blueprints, sketches, or verbal orders.
•Inspect parts for defects and measure to ensure conformance with specifications and close tolerances.
•Perform machining using lathe/broaching/drilling/tapping and other machining functions as needed.
•Follow company policies and safety procedures while maintaining shop tools and welding/cutting equipment in a safe and orderly condition.

Key Requirements

•Have a minimum of 6 months of documented mechanic work experience, or be a graduate/student of an industrial maintenance training program (experience may be combined).
•Capable of fabricating/erecting tasks using various metals including stainless steel, galvanized, and black iron.
•Perform the three major welding types: TIG, ARC, and MIG welding, including welding in multiple positions (flat, vertical, horizontal, overhead).
•Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, sketches, and work orders to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
•Use hand and power tools and shop equipment safely, including inspection and maintenance activities; maintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean, orderly manner.
