Job Summary

Develop and own launch pad fluid system designs, build support, and operations for Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy interfaces. Lead teams of technicians during build campaigns, troubleshoot fluid, thermodynamics, and instrumentation issues, and improve hardware, software, procedures, and automation for the systems you support. Serve as lead engineer through pad design, construction, and activation, and present engineering data and certification packages to U.S. government agencies.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as the responsible engineer for one or multiple launch pad fluid systems, including compressible, incompressible, and/or cryogenic fluids.
•Apply heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, controls, and instrumentation knowledge to troubleshoot launch pad fluid system issues.
•Lead and direct technician teams to execute design, build, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and operational procedures for the fluid systems.
•Develop and improve functional automation for the fluid systems you are responsible for.
•Serve as the lead engineer during pad design, construction, and activation, and present certification packages and engineering data to NASA and the U.S. Space Force.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, physics, or other engineering discipline.
•1+ years of professional experience working with fluid, mechanical, or low voltage electrical systems.
•Ability to pass an Air Force background check for Vandenberg Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral.
•Knowledge of instrumentation and control components (e.g., pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, flow meters, relays, solenoid, pneumatic valves).
•Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with shift flexibility and physical requirements (15 to 35 lbs.).
