Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as the responsible engineer for one or multiple launch pad fluid systems, including compressible, incompressible, and/or cryogenic fluids.
  • •Apply heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, controls, and instrumentation knowledge to troubleshoot launch pad fluid system issues.
  • •Lead and direct technician teams to execute design, build, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and operational procedures for the fluid systems.
  • •Develop and improve functional automation for the fluid systems you are responsible for.
  • •Serve as the lead engineer during pad design, construction, and activation, and present certification packages and engineering data to NASA and the U.S. Space Force.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, physics, or other engineering discipline.
  • •1+ years of professional experience working with fluid, mechanical, or low voltage electrical systems.
  • •Ability to pass an Air Force background check for Vandenberg Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral.
  • •Knowledge of instrumentation and control components (e.g., pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, flow meters, relays, solenoid, pneumatic valves).
  • •Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with shift flexibility and physical requirements (15 to 35 lbs.).
