Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead an electronics research project while mentoring graduates and other engineers.
  • •Research emerging technologies using technical papers, patents, supplier engagement, and external collaborations.
  • •Design, simulate, build, and test demonstration rigs and prototype systems to assess feasibility.
  • •Develop power electronic systems (e.g., motor drives, battery management, power supplies, chargers, heater control) and optimize cost, size, efficiency, and performance.
  • •Create technical reports and present design concepts, test results, and recommendations to stakeholders; identify technical risks and mitigation strategies.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline with relevant industry or research experience.
  • •Experience with at least one of: motor drives, inverters, SMPS, heater control, chargers, battery management systems, or power transfer.
  • •Good knowledge of power electronic devices (e.g., silicon IGBTs and MOSFETs) and wide bandgap technologies, including ability to interpret datasheets.
  • •Experience using SPICE-based simulation tools (e.g., Simetrix, LTspice) and correlating predicted behaviour with measured laboratory results.
  • •Schematic capture and PCB design experience using Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, or other ECAD tools.
