Job Summary

Own medium-scale process improvement projects across life science manufacturing, driving feasibility studies, problem-solving, and documentation to improve quality, yields, and efficiency. Develop and validate new manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling, create budgets, and coordinate engineering deliverables and project schedules. Lead reliability and RCFE efforts, optimize preventive/predictive maintenance, and maintain engineering records aligned with cGMP and ISO requirements. Based in Bakersfield, CA.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical process ownership to core manufacturing processes, developing methods, equipment, and support infrastructure to optimize production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and quality.
•Design, validate, and commission new production equipment and tooling; monitor upgrades and troubleshoot existing processes.
•Develop project budgets and ensure engineering (process) progress for tenders and awarded projects, including planning, scheduling, progress reporting, and resource forecasts.
•Provide operational leadership for process design/detail engineering, including process simulations, design calculations, process optimization, sizing/selection of equipment, and review/validation of new equipment installations.
•Implement and maintain engineering records consistent with cGMP and ISO regulations; lead reliability best practices and RCFE processes to reduce unscheduled downtime and costs.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 78,000 - 125,350 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree; MS or advanced education in mechanical, chemical, or industrial engineering preferred.
•2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with engineering work involving chemical process design and transfer design for manufacturability and capital funds requests.
•Applied engineering experience in a GMP manufacturing environment preferred.
•Familiarity with purified water systems, blending/drying process technologies, evaporation purification, and aseptic processing systems is a plus.
•Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; detail oriented and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
