Key Responsibilities

  • •Review, approve, and sign-out reports for clinical molecular/cytogenetic and oncologic results on platforms including SNP array, NGS, and other methodologies.
  • •Oversee interpretation of genetic and CNV variant data in context of literature and databases along with patient demographics.
  • •Provide clinical and technical support for genetic counselors and laboratory personnel.
  • •Set standards for laboratory testing and analytic performance; ensure maintenance of these standards.
  • •Analyze lab data and contribute to publications in high-quality scientific journals.

Key Requirements

  • •MD/DO and/or PhD in genetics or related field; board-certified ABMGG in Clinical Cytogenetics and/or Molecular Genetics, ABP in Molecular Genetic Pathology, or equivalent doctoral-level board
  • •Current California laboratory director license as a Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist or Clinical Cytogeneticist
  • •Current Certificate of Qualification in Genetic Testing from the NYS CLEP
  • •5+ years of experience in a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory analyzing, interpreting and reporting clinical genetic/genomic data
  • •Management experience required; knowledge of CAP, CLIA, California, and New York state regulations
