Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and analyze signal systems for transit and heavy rail using CBTC and traditional relay-based systems, including braking calculations, tables, schematics, and phasing plans.
  • •Prepare detailed calculations, technical specifications, procurement documents, design/installation packages, proposal evaluations, and technical reports for rail signaling.
  • •Create signaling schemes compliant with industry standards, codes, and client specifications using knowledge of signaling principles, circuits, and components.
  • •Perform detailed checks of signals and circuit designs produced by other signaling engineers or third parties in a consultancy environment.
  • •Interact with clients on technical topics, facilitate resolution of technical issues, and plan/execute project work within scope, schedule, and budget while motivating junior staff.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • •Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligibility to apply.
  • •Minimum 10 years of experience in railway signaling across CBTC and traditional relay-based systems.
  • •Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or equivalent CAD software.
  • •Strong working knowledge of CROR, AREMA, and Transport Canada GCR/GCS requirements.
