Job Summary

Maintain and repair heavy construction and mechanical equipment including trucks, trailers, dozers, excavators, motor graders, engines, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems. Troubleshoot problems and make durable, economical repairs by dismantling and replacing parts, adjusting controls, welding broken components, and testing equipment performance. Perform preventive maintenance tasks (oil changes, greasing, fluids, filters) and handle parts ordering and basic computer work across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

•Troubleshoot equipment problems and make economical, durable repairs.
•Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists and hand tools.
•Maintain and repair heavy equipment, trucks, shop, and non-mobile equipment.
•Service vehicles/equipment (oil changes, greasing, fluids, filters) and perform preventive maintenance.
•Order parts and supplies; maintain purchase orders and invoices; operate a computer for job functions.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED.
•5 years’ experience as a skilled automotive mechanic with mechanical maintenance experience on heavy duty construction equipment (e.g., Komatsu/CAT dozers, excavators, motor graders, water trucks).
•Valid driver’s license.
•Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
•Ability to type/use keyboards accurately and knowledge of database software.
