Job Summary

Lead propulsion engineering activities for the Space Launch Systems (SLS) program at Kennedy Space Center. Own and define propulsion component and subsystem certification test performance, develop subsystem build and test strategies, and coordinate issue resolution with production, engineering support, quality, and technical disciplines. Direct assembly efforts across shifts, support fielded systems with technical recommendations, develop future propulsion concepts, mentor engineers, and lead work scope with minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the definition and performance of certification tests for propulsion components and subsystems, including test requirements, plans, procedures, and equipment capabilities.
•Lead subsystem build and test strategy with the Production IPT and ensure readiness for key milestones by identifying workarounds for major constraints.
•Coordinate with production, engineering support, quality, and technical disciplines to identify, disposition, and resolve propulsion system hardware, process, or procedure issues.
•Lead planning and support of assembly efforts across multiple shifts, including tie-ins to review lessons learned, progress, and next-shift objectives.
•Support propulsion hardware integration and fielded systems, mentor younger engineers, and direct work scope for other engineers.

•Must meet Export Control requirements as a “US Person” (US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
•Must be able to obtain access to a NASA facility.
