Job Summary

Drive a Class A truck for a heavy highway contractor, collaborating with co-workers and managers to keep operations running smoothly. Deliver materials by following dispatch instructions, maintaining accurate mileage logs and monitoring gauges, loading/unloading safely, and supporting minor truck maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

•Follow dispatch instructions and obey applicable laws and regulations while delivering materials.
•Champion safety by adhering to company policies and OSHA/MSHA and DOT guidelines, including PPE use in designated areas.
•Perform thorough daily vehicle inspections and maintain required documentation for compliance.
•Keep meticulous logs of vehicle mileage and monitor gauges during operation.
•Load and unload materials safely and maintain the truck in clean, top-notch condition with minor service and maintenance as needed.

Key Requirements

•Hold a current CDL Class A driver’s license that meets state requirements (hazmat and tanker endorsements a plus).
•Maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company standards and be at least 18 years old.
•Pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check.
•Pass a “Fit for Work” physical and thrive in a safety-sensitive workplace.
•Provide valid documentation for I-9 verification and demonstrate professionalism with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
