Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and grow a team of engineers building Sysdig’s runtime agent, owning technical direction, hiring, growth, and performance.
  • •Review designs and code across the team and unblock engineers on the hardest problems while staying hands-on on cross-cutting work.
  • •Partner with product, detection, and security research teams to guarantee new runtime agent functionality without regressing performance or stability in production.
  • •Set and execute technical direction for a distributed, production runtime deployed across customer infrastructure.
  • •Plan and drive long-term roadmaps and lead work spanning multiple teams during periods of rapid product change.

Key Requirements

  • •Lead and grow a team of engineers through hiring, mentoring, and performance management while staying hands-on technically.
  • •Build and operate low-level, performance-critical systems software in C or C++ running continuously in production.
  • •Experience with containerized/orchestrated systems, including Kubernetes, containerd, and familiarity with cgroups.
  • •Deep working knowledge of OS internals and instrumentation techniques such as eBPF or kernel modules (Linux internal proficiency required).
  • •Operate distributed systems at scale, understanding reliability and performance trade-offs across hosts and containers.
