Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead technical support for overhead line design on complex multi-discipline projects.
  • •Drive assigned OHL design activities including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis, sag-tension calculations, and clearance reports.
  • •Lead feasibility studies, conductor thermal ratings, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • •Write proposals covering timeline, resources, budget, objectives, and goals; originate and check engineering deliverables (designs, reports, presentations, drawing packages).
  • •Mentor and share knowledge within the team, and support business development activities such as bid reviews and client presentations.

Key Requirements

  • •Professionally qualified CEng Chartered Engineer with a recognized electrical engineering institution (e.g., the IET).
  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent technical discipline (electrical or power engineering).
  • •Experience delivering projects for transmission system operators (e.g., National Grid, SSE, SPT) in line with their standards; CDAE accreditation is highly advantageous.
  • •Overhead line engineering project experience (ideally up to 400kV).
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
