Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and maintain shipyard web applications as part of an Agile team.
  • •Participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and liaise with business analysts and UX specialists to deliver and enhance software products.
  • •Contribute to estimation, detailed design, and planning for each software release.
  • •Maintain the codebase through code reviews, testing, code analysis/performance improvements, and up-to-date documentation with proper configuration management.
  • •Contribute to software process improvement and team development by sharing knowledge, and champion digital innovation using new technologies and methodologies.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience developing web applications, ideally with JavaScript (React/Angular).
  • •Experience with Java and at least one of: Quarkus, Wildfly, and/or Spring Boot in a containerised service environment.
  • •Familiarity with Agile development and the Atlassian suite of tools, including Git and GitHub-related tooling (Git, Bitbucket or GitLab).
  • •Experience working with Defence projects, including reviewing, testing, and maintaining code (familiarity with shipyard/manufacturing environments is an advantage).
  • •Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, and eligibility to hold Baseline Clearance.
