Key Responsibilities

  • •Accurately locate and mark company facilities, including transmission & distribution systems, service lines, and other facilities.
  • •Read and interpret system maps, ensuring accuracy of company maps and records related to damage prevention.
  • •Work with company crews and outside contractors to be available for needed re-marking to prevent damage.
  • •Investigate natural gas facility damages to determine root causes and report suspected damages to the system.
  • •Maintain accurate records and reports to comply with company and regulatory requirements, and identify and report safety and encroachment issues for resolution.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in natural gas, damage prevention activities, service, construction and maintenance, and/or pipeline operations.
  • •Thorough understanding of company operations.
  • •Obtain and maintain required Operator Qualifications (OQs) and classroom training/certifications within six months, and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • •Ability to communicate, persuade, and/or influence internal and external customers with strong interpersonal skills.
  • •Ability to use the company internet/intranet, take and upload digital photos for line locate tickets, and perform data entry and retrieval in available systems.
