Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee food safety, quality, and regulatory programs to ensure USDA/FDA compliance, accurate documentation, and audit readiness, including root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • •Partner with FSQA and Operations to prevent HACCP, SSOP, and product/process failures through continuous improvement and staff training.
  • •Design and manage the facility sanitation program, including audits, microbial testing, and performance tracking, and take prompt corrective action when issues arise.
  • •Lead development, maintenance, and reassessment of SQF Food Safety and Quality Plans to keep the system current, compliant, and well-communicated.
  • •Supervise and develop the FSQA team, managing staffing, schedules, performance reviews, training, and cross-training/delegation coverage as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant food industry experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • •2+ years of demonstrated experience managing/developing teams or leading projects.
  • •Ability to complete required applicable forms in English, including reading and writing.
  • •Hands-on microbiological testing experience for meat and poultry, knowledge of foodborne pathogens and microbiological/limited chemistry testing, and understanding of USDA/FSIS, HACCP, and SSOP requirements and QMS systems.
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills and analytical/problem-solving abilities to address quality and compliance issues in a timely manner.
