Job Summary

Lead Strategic Energy Management for Canadian Solid Wood Operations, evolving and implementing the organization’s energy management plan. Coordinate facility energy audits, benchmark performance, and scope/track CAPEX projects while tracking and reporting energy usage for monthly KPI reporting. Identify conservation initiatives, set energy targets, and implement cost-saving projects. Partner with BC Hydro and FortisBC, ensure performance contract deliverables, support sustainability and annual GHG reporting, and travel regularly to operating facilities across BC and Alberta.

Key Responsibilities

•Evolve and implement the Strategic Energy Management Plan for Canadian Solid Wood Operations and Canfor.
•Coordinate facility energy audits and benchmarking as needed.
•Scope, track, and deliver CAPEX projects tied to energy programs and cost-saving initiatives.
•Track and report energy usage for monthly KPI reports; set achievable energy management targets.
•Liaise with BC Hydro and FortisBC on programs and incentives, represent Canfor at industry meetings, and ensure performance contract deliverables are met.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•Registered professional Engineer (P.Eng) or EIT with relevant experience, Certified Energy Manager, a Master’s degree, or a combination of training (electrician, power engineer, mechanical technologist).
•Minimum 5 years of relevant technical experience.
•Strong skills in Microsoft Office and Power BI.
•Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and report writing skills.
•Project management experience.
