Job Summary

Ensure products meet applicable safety and regulatory requirements by reviewing designs and technical documentation against standards for industrial and hazardous-location equipment. Coordinate with test laboratories and certification bodies to obtain, maintain, and renew certifications, and assess certification impacts from engineering change activity. Monitor evolving regulations, manage compliance documentation and markings, and guide internal teams and customers on ordinary and hazardous location certification needs.

Job Function: Legal, Risk & Compliance

Key Responsibilities

•Review product designs, drawings, technical documentation, manuals, and reports to ensure compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards for industrial and hazardous-location products.
•Coordinate with test laboratories and certification bodies to obtain, maintain, and renew product certifications, including creating certification assessments, construction reviews, test plans, and sample requirements.
•Identify compliance gaps and partner with design teams to implement corrective actions, and assess engineering change impacts on existing certifications.
•Monitor evolving standards and regulations and communicate potential impacts to product engineering teams and stakeholders.
•Maintain certification documentation and markings, provide guidance on ordinary and hazardous location certifications, and support ATEX/IECEx installation/maintenance documentation review and approvals.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
•Relevant experience in product certification, compliance, or regulatory engineering in industrial or hazardous-location environments.
•Hands-on experience with ordinary and hazardous location standards such as IEC 60079, UL, CSA, FM, ATEX, and IECEx.
•Experience working with certification agencies such as UL, CSA, Intertek, TÜV, or equivalent bodies.
•Ability to interpret pneumatic circuit diagrams, flow diagrams, and ISO symbols, plus proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; AutoCAD knowledge and Creo design review experience.
