Job Summary

Manage the survey team to support accurate grade checking and surveying for heavy highway and related projects. Oversee and provide technical support for surveyors and grade checkers, collect and organize as-built survey data, and communicate with supervisors, owners, and contractors to schedule field work. Maintain and calibrate survey & grade equipment, ensure documentation for reporting and project records, and uphold safety standards while stepping into field work when needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Acquire, create, and deliver 2D and 3D design information for grade checking, structure stakeout, and surveying.
•Provide oversight and technical support to surveyors and grade checkers to ensure proper setup and procedures.
•Collect and organize as-built survey data to adjust designs or create reports.
•Oversee and maintain survey and grade equipment, including calibration, tracking, and replacement scheduling.
•Verify documentation for time reporting, project records, credit statements, vehicle maintenance, and fuel purchases; assure safety standards are met.

Key Requirements

•Experience and familiarity surveying and laying out work in the heavy highway industry (5 years preferred).
•Surveyor manager experience (preferred).
•Proficient computer skills.
•Ability to review and interpret project plans and determine proper information.
•Ohio Licensed Professional Surveyor (preferred) or pursuit/award of Civil Engineering, Surveying, or related field (preferred).
