Job Summary

Serve as a primary technical architect and engineering leader for a merchant workforce management platform, including shift scheduling engines, labor tracking, and enterprise payroll/workforce integrations. Drive scalable microservices and API architecture, lead system design reviews, and improve reliability through observability and on-call support. Collaborate with Product, Design, Infrastructure, and Data teams to define roadmaps, architectural standards, and multi-tenant data models that support real-time scheduling at scale.

•Drive strategic system architecture and technical vision for the Employees platform, shift scheduling engines, and enterprise integrations.
•Design, build, and govern resilient, high-throughput microservices and APIs for smart payment devices and merchant web dashboards.
•Collaborate cross-functionally to shape product strategy, break down ambiguous problems, and deliver scalable software architectures.
•Set engineering standards and lead complex system design reviews, ensuring code quality and security best practices.
•Design highly available, multi-tenant data models with Infrastructure/Data teams and oversee platform reliability and observability in an on-call rotation.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 128,000 - 216,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
•10+ years of hands-on professional software engineering experience architecting and operating mission-critical, large-scale backend systems.
•Deep expertise in Java/JVM and extensive experience building distributed microservices using Spring Boot.
•Hands-on cloud-native architecture with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code via Terraform (GCP experience preferred).
•Advanced data and API architecture: schema design, query optimization, transaction management across SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL, plus RESTful API design and security.
