Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the reliability and performance of production ClickHouse clusters, whether self-hosted on Kubernetes or on managed services.
  • •Design standard cluster architecture and tooling to scale to dozens of multi-node clusters without operational overload.
  • •Manage the full cluster lifecycle as code: provisioning, configuration, scaling, upgrades, and migrations.
  • •Build monitoring and alerting to detect problems before users notice them, and keep runbooks/documentation up to date.
  • •Handle production emergencies as needed, lead root-cause analysis on the database side, and contribute to postmortems.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep, DBA-level knowledge of ClickHouse, including how it stores, merges, replicates, and queries data in production.
  • •Strong SQL skills, including optimizing complex analytical queries and reviewing schema design.
  • •Experience operating stateful database workloads on Kubernetes in production, including using a database operator.
  • •Hands-on experience with version upgrades, backup and restore, and migrating large datasets between clusters/regions with zero or minimal downtime.
  • •Proactive database health practices: monitoring/alerting and strong troubleshooting across queries, schema design, Kubernetes, Linux, storage, and networking.
