Mobile Diesel Technician II performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced diagnostics on light–heavy trucks in a mobile/field environment. Lead on jobsites, manage parts and scheduling, and ensure safety compliance while delivering high-quality repairs for Cox Fleet customers.

Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and other truck systems and components.
•Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments and on-board diagnostic tools.
•Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation after repairs.
•Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
•Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections.
•Communicate with clients to assess needs, provide information, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
•Manage concurrent tasks with effective prioritization and time management.
•Document repairs and parts used on Repair Orders using iOS device and TRAIT app, and complete DOT forms promptly.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
•At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment
•Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
•OEM training and certifications are preferred
•This position follows DOT/FMCSA regulations and requires DOT background screening and DOT physical; must be able to obtain/maintain a valid DOT medical card"
