Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide leadership and management for the department to ensure high quality teaching of the relevant subject, efficient use of resources, and improved pupil achievement.
  • •Organize and manage the department in line with the aims and objectives of the school, including budgeting and resource planning.
  • •Oversee professional development of staff and keep abreast of developments in the subject area; evaluate teaching effectiveness and provide guidance.
  • •Lead on team recruitment, induction, and performance management, and participate in staff meetings and committees.
  • •Ensure curriculum reflects the needs of pupils and standards required by educational boards; liaise with administration, form tutors and parents as necessary.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in the Middle/Secondary section.
  • •Graduation degree in any school subject/discipline; professional qualification of a B.Ed.
  • •Familiarity with the curriculum vis-à-vis the post and inspection by external bodies such as UAE School Inspection; knowledge of pedagogy trends.
  • •Excellent communication skills and proven leadership qualities; ability to motivate and develop others.
  • •Well-developed IT skills and knowledge about online lesson delivery.
