Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of campus EHS programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • •Monitor regulatory changes and update health and safety policies, procedures, and required inspections.
  • •Investigate accidents and incidents, determine root causes, and establish prevention measures to avoid recurrence.
  • •Oversee chemical use and chemical inventory, ensure SDS are maintained, and manage programs for radiation safety, biological safety, laboratory safety, hazardous materials, and regulated waste.
  • •Lead health and safety training, perform safety audits, and manage indoor safety needs (training, PPE, corrective measures) while coordinating with consultants and safety committees.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree with seven years of related work experience, or a bachelor’s degree with ten years of related work experience.
  • •Minimum three years of experience directly supervising or managing personnel.
  • •Strong knowledge of environmental and workplace safety regulations (e.g., OSHA and EPA) and the ability to research and interpret rules and regulations.
  • •Ability to conduct/oversee hazard assessments, investigate accidents/incidents, identify root causes, and implement prevention measures.
  • •Adult CPR with First Aid and AED capability within 60 days of employment, plus a valid Arizona Driver’s License and successful pre-employment background investigation.
