Key Responsibilities

  • •Drive vulnerability management end to end by running scans across systems, networks, and applications, prioritizing by risk, and tracking remediation to closure.
  • •Research emerging threats and translate threat intelligence into practical guidance on what to patch, watch, or harden next.
  • •Lead responses to security alerts: triage, contain issues, coordinate with the wider cybersecurity team across time zones, and write post-incident reviews.
  • •Serve as the on-site IT support for the Manchester office, handling hardware/software issues, accounts and access, and onboarding new starters.
  • •Take part in the on-call rota and respond to critical issues or security incidents outside office hours.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 5 years of cybersecurity experience, ideally focused on vulnerability and threat research and management.
  • •Strong judgment for vulnerability prioritization and running incidents calmly under pressure, including knowing when to escalate.
  • •Solid all-round IT support skills across Windows environments, networking, and common business tools.
  • •Familiarity with vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection, and SIEM tooling.
  • •Awareness of UK data protection requirements and frameworks such as Cyber Essentials or ISO 27001.
