Job Summary

Own day-to-day HR operations for the Malaysia shared services center, acting as the first-line decision-maker and filter for localized escalations. Lead, mentor, and govern a team of HR specialists across people partnering, IR/ER, and people experience, while ensuring policy governance, compliance with the Malaysian Employment Act, and effective conflict resolution. Oversee local HR budgeting, optimize HR service delivery workflows, and coach business leaders on talent reviews, succession planning, and performance calibration.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as the primary filter and operational decision-maker for the Malaysia SSC, owning and resolving most localized HR escalations independently.
•Independently manage HR interventions, local policy applications, performance mitigations, and team allocations without constant oversight.
•Lead and develop a team of specialists, ensuring cross-functional coverage and building an internal talent pipeline while mitigating key-person dependency.
•Custodian for localized implementation and governance of global and local HR policies across the employee lifecycle; ensure compliance with Malaysian statutory requirements and Industrial Court precedents.
•Oversee local HR budget tracking and run-rate costs, optimize HR service delivery workflows, and lead change execution during business reorganizations.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3+ years in an M1 (or equivalent) leadership role managing people.
•Proven experience operating in a fast-paced Shared Services Center (SSC) environment or managing 500–1000+ employee footprint.
•Expert, authoritative knowledge of Malaysian Labor Law/Employment Act with hands-on experience handling complex IR/ER matters.
•Demonstrated autonomy as a trusted second-in-command or localized entity lead, resolving complex cases end to end with minimal managerial intervention.
•Exceptional emotional intelligence and executive presence, with strong data analysis skills and exposure to using AI for automation influence.
