Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and manage Splunk Mission Control to enhance incident response and streamline security operations.
  • •Design and implement automated validation for critical security logs (ingestion, completeness, parsing/normalization, schema consistency, field accuracy, timeliness/latency).
  • •Build automated tests and guardrails for detection logic, including regression testing and rule quality/performance checks.
  • •Create and maintain dashboards and metrics for operational monitoring and executive-ready KPIs to track detection posture in real time.
  • •Integrate validation and monitoring into engineering workflows using CI/CD and version control; partner with JSOC and Threat Informed Defense to define standards for good telemetry.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with 4+ years in Information Security, along with Splunk ES (or 6+ years in lieu of degree).
  • •4+ years of Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL) to query, analyze, and visualize data for security decisions.
  • •Construct and manage Splunk ES assets and identities, ensuring accurate security posture and entity correlation.
  • •Develop and leverage Splunk ES alert actions to automate and optimize threat detection and response.
  • •Use Python and HTTP client programming to integrate and automate security solutions efficiently.
