Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop a polio modeling strategy with the E&E Deputy Director and IDM leadership to support global eradication goals.
  • •Manage the polio team project portfolio by setting priorities, guiding methodological approaches, and ensuring timely analytical products for stakeholders.
  • •Create and evolve modeling approaches to assess implementation of new polio eradication interventions and maintain elimination in at-risk geographies.
  • •Develop study designs to measure program impact on polio disease and transmission in coordination with the polio program.
  • •Performance manage direct reports, coordinate across IDM research pillars and Foundation teams, and lead planning for quarterly IDM Research Reviews.

Key Requirements

  • •PhD in dynamical and statistical modeling of infectious diseases, epidemiology, polio-relevant immuno-epidemiology or vaccinology, or similar.
  • •Track record of success in complex, multi-disciplinary environments, ideally within a large research institute.
  • •Proven ability to translate modeling results into public health policy impact with partners and stakeholders.
  • •Advanced knowledge of mathematical modeling approaches (dynamical models for polio/disease dynamics), plus statistical techniques and spatial analytics, with advanced coding and AI capabilities.
  • •Experience managing analytical workflows and teams to deliver modeling results in the public health context.
