Key Responsibilities

  • •Identify testing objectives, success criteria, scope, and deliverables; develop test plans, schedules, resources, and dependencies.
  • •Develop and maintain the programme test strategy and integrated test plan (phases, environments, data, entry/exit criteria, quality gates, and evidence requirements).
  • •Oversee multiple concurrent testing activities (system/functional, SIT, end-to-end, UAT support, regression, and agreed non-functional testing) against time, quality, and governance standards.
  • •Manage testing risks, dependencies, issues, environment constraints, and test data readiness; escalate material blockers and drive resolution.
  • •Run defect management practices (triage, prioritisation, root-cause themes, retest discipline, closure criteria) and provide governance updates on milestones, outcomes, quality metrics, and risks.

Key Requirements

  • •Extensive experience delivering large change programmes, shaping and overseeing end-to-end testing across the delivery lifecycle.
  • •Proven delivery experience in banking/financial services, including within an HSBC group context.
  • •Familiarity with core banking processes, products, and relevant regulations; ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into pragmatic test coverage.
  • •Strong delivery methodology knowledge across Waterfall and Agile, selecting the right approach based on risk and complexity.
  • •Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage senior stakeholders, with strong communication and defensible evidence for audit readiness.
