Location: San Jose
Workplace: Hybrid
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Sales

Key Responsibilities

  • •Conceptually size primary aerodynamic surfaces (wing, tail/empennage) against mission requirements for tiltrotor/eVTOL use cases.
  • •Build vehicle drag polars across the flight envelope using low-fidelity aerodynamic tools and handbook methods.
  • •Trim the vehicle across representative flight conditions and produce trim lines/schedules.
  • •Estimate performance metrics (range, endurance, speed, climb) from integrated aerodynamic and propulsion inputs.
  • •Provide aerodynamic and performance feedback to support vehicle-level configuration trades in collaboration with vehicle and powertrain architects.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 152,800 - 227,600 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Conceptual aerodynamic design experience using low-fidelity aerodynamic tools such as AVL, OpenVSP/VSPAERO, or XFOIL.
  • •Strong grounding in handbook-based aerodynamic sizing methods such as Hoerner and Roskam.
  • •Ability to perform trim and flight mechanics analysis across hover, transition, and cruise regimes.
  • •Experience estimating vehicle performance (range, endurance, speed).
  • •Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for aero data reduction and analysis.
