Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the technical roadmap and architecture for the Mortgage platform, partnering with product management to co-own product direction and deliver new and improved features.
  • •Own delivery for the Mortgage business line and partner with business leadership as a peer, jointly accountable for business results.
  • •Set technical direction, reduce technical debt, and scale the architecture sustainably while maintaining delivery speed.
  • •Represent engineering in annual strategy planning, including capacity modeling, headcount planning, and prioritization tradeoffs.
  • •Manage quality incidents, hire and raise the bar for engineering talent, and mentor team members; build customer relationships to drive outcomes in partnership with them.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years as an engineering manager and 12+ years as an engineer overall, including experience managing large teams and managers.
  • •Experience owning a P&L/business line, including revenue targets and capacity planning, ideally in highly regulated, large-scale product environments.
  • •Deep understanding of service architecture, system design, and lean software development, with the ability to make prioritization decisions across technical and business tradeoffs.
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills to translate technical strategy into business terms for executives.
  • •Experience with machine learning and AI, with enthusiasm for working in an AI-native company.
  • •Humility, openness to feedback, eagerness to learn, and an A-player mindset with ownership of outcomes.
