Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, build, and evolve core shared services that support Visa’s product development ecosystem at global scale.
  • •Lead development of scalable, secure, reusable Java/J2EE-based services that serve as foundational platforms for multiple product teams.
  • •Create architecture and design artifacts, define technical best practices and standards (Java/J2EE, API design, security, scalability), and influence engineering standards.
  • •Design and implement cloud-native, containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and elastic scalability.
  • •Partner with Security teams to implement secure API gateways and authentication/authorization mechanisms, analyze incidents and performance metrics, and drive long-term platform improvements.

Key Requirements

  • •14+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree/PhD experience as described).
  • •Strong expertise in Java (Core Java, J2EE) and RESTful, API-first service architectures.
  • •Experience designing elastic, scalable distributed systems and high-traffic web application patterns.
  • •Hands-on experience building container-based, cloud-native services using Docker and Kubernetes, including cloud migration and multi-cloud strategies.
  • •Deep understanding of security requirements, secure API gateway patterns, authentication/authorization, and CI/CD-driven automation practices.
