Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the integrated demand forecast end to end, combining live tracking signals and model-generated parcels into a single view by area from today to 30 days ahead.
  • •Build the hardest forecasting models, including long-horizon demand, inbound international volume, and parcel size and weight models that convert counts to physical volume.
  • •Define methodology and validation standards, including horizon-appropriate accuracy measurement and what “good” looks like.
  • •Raise the technical bar by reviewing approaches, making model-choice and build-vs-buy calls, and mentoring Senior Data Scientist and Analyst without line management.
  • •Own forecast interfaces and production quality by defining handoffs to demand-management, routing, and network planning, and working with an ML Engineer to monitor models and manage drift.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 8 years in a data science or quantitative modelling role, with examples of models that informed operational or commercial decisions.
  • •Strong Python and SQL, with depth across the modelling lifecycle from feature engineering through training, validation, and production deployment.
  • •Experience with time-series forecasting, including classical statistical approaches, gradient boosting, and deep learning, with the ability to choose and defend trade-offs.
  • •Build and deliver models from ambiguous starting points; validate against real operations and measure impact beyond offline metrics.
  • •Communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders about what the models do, where they’re reliable, and where they’re not; comfortable using AI tools (LLMs, code assistants).
