Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead execution of the Academic Partnerships programme, translating collaborations into research projects, talent pipelines, and measurable value including AI at Scale contributions.
  • •Lead execution of the Invention & Patents Strategy, including progressing disclosures, maintaining portfolio governance, and supporting commercialisation pathways.
  • •Identify and assess next-generation innovation trends and disruptors, translating signals into strategic recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • •Shape and influence the enterprise innovation portfolio/pipeline to drive prioritisation, investment, and scale decisions with clear value cases and benefit measures.
  • •Mobilise stakeholders across business, technology, risk, procurement, and strategy to remove blockers and embed governance and controls for responsible innovation.

Key Requirements

  • •Evidence of converting external innovation/AI partnerships (including academia) into tangible outcomes such as research projects and talent pipelines.
  • •Exposure to inventions and patents, including disclosures, portfolio governance/tracking, commercialisation, and recognition mechanisms.
  • •Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders across business, technology, and external partners at enterprise level, and leading cross-functional working groups.
  • •Strong understanding of emerging trends in financial services and AI, including the ability to translate disruptor/technology signals into enterprise value options.
  • •Significant experience in governance, prioritisation, and benefits tracking for an AI and/or advanced strategic innovation portfolio.
