Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families at assigned military installations.
  • •Provide the full breadth of personal financial counseling, including one-on-one counseling, consultations, briefings/presentations, and referrals outside counseling sessions.
  • •Develop and provide informational financial materials for service members and families.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle, and respond to requests for age-appropriate seminars.
  • •Manage duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol and participate in supervision, in-services, and quality improvement activities as assigned.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required (or an associate degree with 4 years’ experience, or a high school diploma with 6 years’ experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree).
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English (bilingual English/Spanish if required by the contract).
  • •Be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • •Hold one of the required certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
