Key Responsibilities

  • •Proactively manage an assigned caseload of complex property damage claims, including coverage and potential legal liability.
  • •Investigate claim damages by researching with the insured, third parties, and external sources; identify discrepancies and subrogation potential.
  • •Identify coverage concerns, review prior loss history, create SIU referrals when appropriate, and determine coverage for complex policy terms and contingencies.
  • •Determine and negotiate complex claim settlements within authority limits, collaborate with management for out-of-authority settlements, and manage claims outcomes accurately.
  • •Maintain complete, current claim file documentation and use estimating/virtual inspection tools; support catastrophe response operations and may travel for inspections/training as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required.
  • •2 years of relevant property claims adjusting experience with moderate complexity losses, including writing estimates for dwelling and structural damages.
  • •Advanced knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate or similar tools and platforms.
  • •Proficient knowledge of residential construction and property claims contracts, including interpretation of case law and state laws/regulations.
  • •Proven negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills, plus investigatory/analytical problem-solving and the ability to travel 50–75% of the year.
