Key Responsibilities

  • •Own security assurance for critical platform backend and integration areas, including event and integration pathways, connectors, service-to-service connectivity, and APIs across trust boundaries.
  • •Secure service-to-service and connector trust boundaries by guiding secure design and implementation for authentication and connector integration, addressing excessive privilege, confused-deputy risk, and secret leakage.
  • •Review and analyze source code deeply (Java plus additional language as needed) to validate assumptions and discover risks in authentication, integration, and access-control flows; trace issues to true root causes so fixes land at the right layer.
  • •Partner with architects, engineers, and product owners to move findings to resolution and push secure-by-default patterns into frameworks and onboarding paths.
  • •Coach junior security engineers on secure design and threat modeling.

Key Requirements

  • •Hands-on experience securing backend, integration, or service-connectivity systems, with deep API security expertise (REST/GraphQL authentication, external exposure, rate-limiting, and input validation).
  • •Ability to threat-model designs to surface concrete security risk and trace issues to technical, architectural, or organizational root causes.
  • •Advanced knowledge of authorization, complex permission/scope models, and service-to-service authentication including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and JSON Web Tokens (JWT).
  • •Strong secure code review skills: analyze Java source code and at least one other language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Go), tracing issues through large or legacy codebases.
  • •5+ years independently operating in product, application, or platform security on moderate-to-high complexity problems.
