Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist with loading and unloading vessel cargo handled at the DP World Melbourne Terminal.
  • •Perform manual lashing duties using heavy rigging equipment to secure shipping containers on the ship.
  • •Operate heavy machinery (straddle carrier) to transport shipping containers around the terminal.
  • •Stack and store cargo on the wharf.
  • •Receive and deliver cargo within the terminal.

Key Requirements

  • •Be physically capable of heavy manual tasks and have experience with physical work or labouring.
  • •Hold a current and valid full Driver's licence (manual desirable).
  • •Hold a current and valid Forklift licence.
  • •Be able to work flexible and irregular hours, including nights and weekends at short notice, with experience in shift work across 24/7.
  • •Have experience operating heavy machinery and/or in heavy industry such as warehousing, transport and logistics, construction, mining, or manufacturing.
