Join Cox Fleet as a Mobile Diesel Technician II, performing DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on light–heavy duty vehicles in a mobile field setting. You’ll work under supervision to tackle electrical, fuel, cooling, and braking systems, maintain DOT compliance, and document work with TRAIT on iOS devices, with a clear path for ASE certifications.

Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and accessory systems (e.g., Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning, Transmissions).
•Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using handheld tools and diagnostic instruments; road test vehicles to verify repairs.
•Document work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders using company-issued iOS TRAIT app; complete DOT forms in a timely fashion.
•Work independently to manage daily schedule, communicate with management for approvals, and comply with OSHA/EPA/DOT safety regulations

Salary: 29.42 - 44.13 hourly

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience (or 5 years in related field)
•Possess and supply a set of hand tools required to perform duties
•Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months
•DOT-regulated pre-employment background check and DOT physical
•Current and valid DOT medical card with at least 4 months remaining; able to obtain/maintain
•Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File
