Key Responsibilities

  • •Learn, demonstrate capability/knowledge, and become certified in all farm department areas under department leader supervision.
  • •Implement company pig production processes and systems such as animal flow, farm health, genetics, and husbandry.
  • •Perform and master hourly jobs under supervision and become certified after demonstrating competence in each.
  • •Prepare required reports and use experiences to identify and share opportunities for improvement.
  • •Comply with environmental laws and company IPS/biosecurity/animal welfare/EMS policies; report issues immediately and act as HOD and on-call for emergencies as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or a related agricultural field, or be a currently enrolled student graduating by the end of the current semester.
  • •Ability to work an average 48-hour week, with weekend, evening, and holiday work as needed.
  • •Ability and willingness to relocate to complete training and assume the first managerial assignment.
  • •Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft software.
  • •Ability to learn and perform animal husbandry tasks including euthanasia, castration, vaccinations, piglet processing, ear tagging, and taking blood samples; also operate a high-pressure washing system.
