Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead, coach, and grow a team of software engineers building MetricFlow, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and day-to-day support.
  • •Own delivery for the Semantic Layer team: planning, prioritization, execution, and predictable shipping of high-quality software.
  • •Partner with senior and staff engineers to set technical direction across metric definitions, query compilation, dimensional modeling, and SQL generation for multiple data warehouses.
  • •Steward MetricFlow as an open-source project by managing issue triage, external pull request reviews, releases, and community engagement on GitHub and Slack.
  • •Drive engineering excellence in performance, reliability, and observability of metric query execution at scale.

Key Requirements

  • •Manage and coach software engineering teams, including hiring, performance management, and career development, with experience shipping production systems.
  • •Have a strong engineering foundation and be able to discuss architecture and technical tradeoffs with senior engineers.
  • •Understand the technical domain: SQL fundamentals and how analytical query engines/data warehouses execute queries, including compilation/parsing/transformation concepts.
  • •Apply software design principles such as clean APIs, modularity, testability, and backwards compatibility, setting clear engineering standards for the team.
