Job Summary

As an Ignite Co-Op student at a high-paced manufacturing site, you’ll support production by monitoring product quality, completing order documentation, and following packaging and work order routing instructions. Maintain safety and area readiness (5-S), remove and pack materials, stock supplies, and help with WIP handling and equipment start/stop. You’ll also assist lead and inspector operators while adhering to safety, environmental, and health requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Wear required safety equipment and maintain safety, environmental, and department of health requirements throughout the shift.
•Monitor and ensure product quality in a high-paced manufacturing setting and communicate/correct quality issues encountered during the shift.
•Complete corresponding documentation for each order and review work order routing notes for customer packaging instructions.
•Remove rolled material from the extruder unwind, pack finished product, place boxes on skids, and fill/load machines with WIP.
•Maintain work area to meet 5-S expectations and notify lead staff regarding questions concerning part quality.

Key Requirements

•Must be a current student in good standing at the Hopkins County Career and Technology Center and enrolled in an approved program (Automotive Technology, Engineering and Technology Education, Industrial Maintenance, or Business).
•18 years of age or older.
•Reliable transportation to and from work.
•Compliance with Hopkins County Career and Technology Center Cooperative Education Guidelines and Agreement.
•Ability to perform basic math and meet physical demands (stand/walk for 3.75+ hours, lift up to 35 lbs).
