Job Summary

Design and develop diffuser combustor components as part of the Hot Section Engineering Mechanical Design team, working within an Integrated Product Team and across related disciplines. Resolve complex mechanical design problems, review product definition data, generate development hardware design solutions, and process engineering changes to meet cost, weight, and part-life performance metrics. Support test and fielded engines and interface with customer technical support to address hardware questions and manual limits.

Key Responsibilities

•Resolve difficult mechanical engineering problems and drive balanced system solutions with supervisor oversight.
•Review and approve product definition data, including prints and models.
•Create development hardware design solutions aligned to test engine objectives and schedules.
•Partner with Operations to address production issues and evaluate hardware nonconformances.
•Process engineering changes within program schedules to meet cost, weight, and part-life performance metrics, and support customer technical support activities.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
•10 years of engineering experience or 7 years of experience with an advanced degree.
•Understanding of hardware, blueprints, dimensions & tolerances, and manufacturing methods.
•Experience with GD&T ASME Y14.5M-1994.
•Turbomachinery experience.
