Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and tune low-level flight control algorithms for multirotor and hybrid aircraft on embedded platforms.
  • •Own dynamics simulation and aerodynamics modeling of the aircraft.
  • •Design controllers, implement them in C++ on embedded platforms, and test them in flight.
  • •Develop fault-tolerant control behaviors, including safe landing and emergency behaviors.
  • •Build trajectory motion planning for smooth flight and obstacle avoidance, and help with mission route planning and fallback locations.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep controls fundamentals including linear/nonlinear systems, stability analysis, controller synthesis and tuning, frequency domain analysis, optimization, and linear algebra.
  • •Excellent knowledge of C++ and embedded systems.
  • •Dynamics modeling and simulation experience, including aerodynamics knowledge.
  • •Experience developing and tuning flight controllers, including interfacing with state estimation.
  • •MS/PhD degree in EE, ME, CS, Robotics, or a related technical field.
