Advise and support procurement and commercial activities across Atlantic markets/region for Rio Tinto’s commodity portfolio from the Montreal office. Draft, review, and negotiate complex purchasing, logistics, services, and master agreements; provide risk and contracting strategy guidance; manage commercial and supply-related disputes; stay current on legal developments; and support digitalization and decarbonization initiatives, including templates and legal training with external counsel.

•Advise on commercial and procurement documents integral to global supply chains and procurement contracting strategies, risk allocation, sourcing activities, negotiations, and contract management.
•Manage commercial, contractual, procurement, and supply-related disputes and matters.
•Maintain awareness of legislative developments and potential impacts on Rio Tinto’s business.
•Create, review, and update legal templates; conduct legal training; and manage external counsel, while supporting digitalization and decarbonization initiatives.

Key Requirements

•At least 8+ years of post-qualification experience within a global corporation and/or a major international law firm.
•Experience advising on procurement, strategic sourcing, commercial contracts, capital projects, or global supply chains.

•Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
•Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
