Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage the daily operation of a regional TOC, ensuring continuous 24/7/365 operational coverage.
  • •Lead and develop TOC supervisors, lead operators, operators, analysts, and support staff.
  • •Develop and maintain Annual Work Plans (AWPs) and monitor contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • •Ensure compliance with VDOT policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including readiness during emergencies.
  • •Coordinate special events, emergency operations, weather events, incident response, and interoperability between regional TOCs.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Engineering, Emergency Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
  • •5+ years of progressively responsible transportation operations experience.
  • •Five or more years supervising a 24/7 operations center.
  • •Experience managing transportation operations/traffic management centers and leading supervisors and operations personnel.
  • •Traffic incident management experience, including work with police, fire, EMS, DOT maintenance, and emergency management agencies.
