Job Summary

Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation for boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment at the plant. Install, calibrate, test, and repair protective relays, metering/monitoring devices, and control systems using test equipment and hand tools. Read P&IDs, control wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to diagnose interlocks and systems. Complete accurate calibration and work records, support apprentices, and follow safety, regulatory, and Tag Out/Lock Out procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide maintenance support to troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain plant instrumentation for boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment.
•Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain protective relays, metering, monitoring, and control systems.
•Read and interpret P&IDs, control wiring diagrams, instruction manuals, blueprints, and control system drawings to locate, diagnose, and repair systems and interlocks.
•Use test equipment and hand tools to troubleshoot and maintain plant devices and systems.
•Maintain accurate written and electronic records (work orders, calibration sheets, timecards, and material requests) and support apprentices with safe work practices.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED.
•5+ years of experience in electronics and pneumatics/instrumentation, or an associate’s degree in electrical technology.
•Pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen and complete required drug and alcohol testing as part of the NRG DOT Program.
•Ability to troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain pneumatic, electronic, and digital controllers, transmitters, and instruments (temperature, pressure, level).
•Ability to Tag Out/Lock Out equipment and follow safety and regulatory procedures.
