Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the strategy and quality of the SOC detection library in Elastic Security (ES|QL/KQL), mapping detections to attacker techniques and improving coverage while reducing noise.
  • •Lead complex incident response and threat hunting, investigating advanced threats across AWS, Elastic, and Datadog and refining response playbooks.
  • •Design and implement automated investigation, enrichment, and response workflows using SOAR, APIs, and custom tooling to increase speed and consistency.
  • •Improve Bitpanda’s security posture through cloud security monitoring, system hardening, security tooling, and support compliance initiatives including ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and DORA.
  • •Act as a technical leader in the Security team by mentoring engineers, influencing architecture decisions, and promoting security best practices across the organization.

Key Requirements

  • •4+ years of hands-on security engineering experience across incident response, threat hunting, SIEM, digital forensics, and scripting.
  • •Experience building and evolving security operations, including designing detections and automating workflows to improve measurable outcomes.
  • •Strong security experience in cloud-native environments, particularly AWS, with system hardening, network security, IAM, and security monitoring.
  • •Experience with Elastic Security, ES|QL, and KQL is highly desirable.
  • •Ability to own complex technical challenges and collaborate closely with engineering through to idea-through-implementation.
