Job Summary

Operate heavy equipment in an open-pit mine environment, safely and efficiently supporting pit and mining operations. Follow OSHA/MSHA and company safety procedures, report issues to a manager, and coordinate with coworkers during backing and communication. Complete daily pre- and post-inspections, perform minor servicing and maintenance, assist with training less-experienced employees, and complete general labor tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes used in pit and mining operations.
•Follow OSHA/MSHA and company policies for safe work procedures and environment.
•Perform daily pre- and post-inspections with appropriate documentation.
•Perform minor servicing and maintenance; refer major issues to the foreman.
•Assist in training less-experienced employees and perform general labor duties when necessary.

Key Requirements

•At least three years of experience operating heavy equipment such as haul trucks, motor graders, bulldozers, excavators, or front-end loaders.
•Ability to safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment used in pit and mining operations.
•Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
•Pass a pre-employment “Fit for Work” physical.
•Valid I-9 Immigration documentation and the ability to work outdoors in extreme hot/cold temperatures.
