Job Summary

Build and tune BI semantic models and enterprise reporting in Power BI as part of a data platform transition from Snowflake to Databricks. Work with cross-functional agile teams to align new reporting with trusted existing datasets, improve performance using DirectQuery or Import modes, and help administer analytics platforms. You’ll document schemas and integrations, troubleshoot refresh and workload issues, and gain hands-on experience with Azure and cloud/SaaS operations.

Key Responsibilities

•Determine Power BI table ingestion mode (DirectQuery vs Import) and improve SQL generated for Databricks using Power Query steps.
•Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to build new enterprise reporting from Databricks aligned with existing reporting from Snowflake.
•Research and test new or more efficient options to improve reporting development throughput.
•Help document model schemas, API integrations, and AI governance standards.
•Support analytics/AI platform administration, monitoring/troubleshooting data refreshes and workloads, and participate in basic incident root-cause analysis.

Key Requirements

•Current graduate student (or pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Information Systems, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
•Foundational programming skills writing moderately complex SQL.
•Power BI experience creating Semantic Models referencing a data warehouse and validating them against source/existing reports.
•Ability to write and understand SQL.
•Strong problem-solving skills, technical curiosity, and willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
