Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide practitioner-grounded commentary on research findings, data analyses, and DX frameworks, offering what it means for running a 500-person engineering org.
  • •Co-author and contribute to flagship reports, essays, and talks, and develop practitioner frameworks, playbooks, and maturity models.
  • •Serve as a trusted advisor to DX’s largest customers and prospects through workshops, advisory sessions, and executive briefings.
  • •Participate in customer inquiries and consultations to help engineering leaders apply DX research and data to their organizational challenges.
  • •Represent DX externally through conferences, panels, industry podcasts, and executive dinners, and produce regular “small ships” and “big ship” outputs.

Key Requirements

  • •Have led engineering organizations or platform/developer experience teams at scale (e.g., VP of Engineering, Head of Platform, Head of Developer Experience, or similar).
  • •Be known and respected by senior engineering leaders (VPs of Engineering/CTOs) with credible relationships across the industry.
  • •Provide sharp commentary on research findings and data analyses—read datasets, explain meaning, and translate into guidance for CTO-level decisions.
  • •Be a strong writer and communicator who can craft practitioner-grounded guidance from DX research.
  • •Maintain an intellectually honest, evidence-updating perspective on how engineering organizations should be run.
