Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead decomposition of a PHP monolith into well-scoped, discoverable Go microservices, defining service boundaries, data contracts, and migration sequencing.
  • •Design, develop, and maintain scalable Go services and API gateways with clear auth/authorization boundaries.
  • •Architect and evolve distributed data infrastructure, including Kafka pipelines, Temporal durable workflows, OpenSearch search/analytics, and Memgraph graph-based modeling.
  • •Integrate with third-party APIs, telemetry systems, and network infrastructure to extend platform capabilities.
  • •Support Terraform-managed cloud infrastructure and maintain high engineering quality via SLAs/SLOs, CI/CD gates, and rigorous code reviews.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 120,000 - 160,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep backend and production-grade distributed architecture experience.
  • •Expert-level Go, including concurrency (goroutines/channels/context) and idiomatic patterns, with sound judgment on complexity.
  • •Demonstrable experience decomposing a PHP monolith, including strangler fig patterns, anti-corruption layers, and migration sequencing.
  • •Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and OpenSearch, plus Kafka (event streaming) and Temporal (durable workflow orchestration).
  • •Strong networking and systems fundamentals (e.g., routing/switching/DNS/BGP/VLAN) and ability to integrate with network telemetry (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow, syslog), plus solid communication skills across time zones.
