Own Command|Link’s platform engineering roadmap and architectural direction, driving the decomposition of a mature PHP monolith into well-bounded Go microservices. Lead end-to-end delivery, build scalable Go services and API gateway boundaries, and evolve distributed data infrastructure with Kafka, Temporal, OpenSearch, and Memgraph. Integrate with third-party APIs and network/telemetry systems, improve reliability via SLOs and CI/CD gates, and mentor engineers while contributing to on-call excellence.

Key Responsibilities

•Own architectural decisions and complex delivery end-to-end across platform engineering.
•Lead decomposition of a PHP monolith into well-scoped Go microservices, including service boundaries and migration sequencing.
•Design and maintain scalable Go services and API gateways with auth/authorization boundaries.
•Architect distributed data infrastructure using event-driven pipelines, durable workflow orchestration, search/analytics, and graph-based data modeling.
•Improve reliability and performance via SLOs/SLAs, CI/CD quality gates, code reviews, and on-call operational excellence, and mentor engineers.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 120,000 - 160,000 annually

Key Requirements

•8+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend systems and production distributed architectures.
•Expert-level Go with strong understanding of concurrency (goroutines/channels/context) and standard library usage.
•Demonstrated experience decomposing a PHP monolith (e.g., strangler fig patterns, anti-corruption layers, data migration).
•Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and OpenSearch, plus Kafka event streaming and Temporal workflow orchestration.
•Deep experience with Terraform and distributed observability/metrics, plus strong networking/system fundamentals and comfort integrating with network telemetry.
